Timber!!

After the tree fell during the ice storm over the winter we cut it up enough to use the driveway but we had a lot more work to do.  My cousin Steve offered to come down with his skid loader and log splitter to help us get the rest of it worked up.  Mom and dad and my cousin Tina, her son Cody and his girlfriend and friend also came down to help.  With the great crew we had we cut up and split the large tree that came down and were able to bring down another tree that was leaning dangerously and split at the base and cut it up as well. Steve got his truck hung up in the back yard but luckily with the winch on his truck he was able to pull himself out by hooking to a tree. After we were done mom made us a nice roast supper.   We really appreciated all the help and got a lot done.  We still have some work to do with the stumps and fixing the ruts in the yard, but at least we got that much done and we'll have a lot of fire wood for next winter.
