It's been a crazy few months but that is nothing new. Aubrey had her fall break from Oct 7-18th (yes two whole weeks) we decided to take the whole second week off so we could take a family vacation. Unfortunately I ended up with most of the first week off as well because Kaden was running a fever but at least it gave me some extra time to get things caught up a little at home.
October 13th we headed to Pigeon Forge, TN. It is our favorite vacation spot and Aubrey had been asking since we went last time (2 years ago) to go again so it was an easy choice where to go. We normally rent a cabin and just do what we feel like that day and this trip was no different. Our cabin this time wasn't my favorite but it worked and it was closer to town than a lot of them had been so that was a bonus it was easy to go back and forth if we needed. Sunday we got down there right as it was getting dark so we just spent the evening at the cabin getting unpacked some and got the kids to bed at a decent time.
Monday we went to the Deer Farm and Exotic Petting Zoo in Sevierville. We've been there several times in the past and it's a pretty neat place. They have a pretty good variety of animals and the kids (and us) love being able to feed and pet them. This is also were Aubrey got the ride Smokey the pony last time we were there. She loved it and has talked about it since then and she wanted to ride him again so that was the first thing we did. She even got to ride Smokey again and she loved it! After her pony ride we went into the petting zoo and we had a really good time feeding all the animals even Kaden liked feeding them. I tried to get him to ride a pony but he wasn't having it he said they were too big for him :) After getting done at the petting zoo we went to get something to eat. We wanted to eat at the Old Mill but we couldn't even find a parking space after 15 minutes of looking so we went to the Apple Barn which was just as good. Then we went to Three Bears and saw the bears and fed them (they have tubes in the wall you can put the food). Then we went next door and the kids got a bucket of sand/gemstones and mined them. We had done this earlier in the summer somewhere else and they really enjoyed it both times. After that we headed back to the Cabin to make some supper and Wes and the kids tried out the hot tub.
Tuesday we went into Gatlinburg to the Aquarium. The kids really liked it too we spent maybe 2 hours there. They have a rotating exhibit that is dinosaurs right now. I thought Kaden might like it since he likes dinosaurs but he was TERRIFIED of it they were animatronic and he wouldn't even go in the space. We did get to watch both the coral reef show and the sting ray show which the kids liked. After the aquarium we ate lunch and went back to the cabin so Kaden could take a nap. Aubrey and Wes played in the hot tub again for a while then when Kaden got up we went back into town. We went to The Track and bought some tickets for the kids to ride some of the rides. We even all rode the bumper cars which was a lot of fun.
Wednesday we headed back toward home. I had a pretty bad cold so I felt like crud but at least it didn't get real bad until Tuesday night so I was able to enjoy the rest of the vacation.
Thursday the kids and I went and got our hair cut and then we got things ready for our Yard Sale on Friday.
Friday was our yard sale which was a complete BUST! It was cold out but sunny it just wasn't a very good day for a sale we will try again in the spring I think.
