Our Vacation

We had such a busy but awesome week. The weekend before last we worked around the house and packed to go to Pigeon Forge. Sunday mom and dad came down for a while and picked up Zeus as they were watching for him for us while we were gone. We left around 2pm Monday afternoon and got down there around 6:30. Overall the kids did pretty good with the drive. We have a portable DVD player that Aubrey watched part of the way and when Kaden got fussy about an hour before we got there we moved it where he could see it. Monday evening we just went straight to the cabin we rented and grilled some burgers for supper and enjoyed the cabin.

There was a bad storm Monday night that knocked the power out to our cabin but luckily it came back on about 9am. Luckily the storm cooled it off though so we decided to go to the Deer Farm petting zoo. We went to the Old Mill and ate a big bruch first then headed to the petting zoo. Aubrey LOVED it! She got to ride her first pony and actually did really well petting and feeding alot of the animals. They have several horses, deer, goats, pigs, cows, zebra, elk, reindeer, camels and other animals. I would highly recommend it for anyone with little kids that like animals. She also loved the pony ride. Kaden didn't really get into it but he was good and just chilled in his stroller. After the zoo we went to Wonderworks (the upside down building). It was ok but they didn't have a lot for the little kids and for the price we didn't really care for it. After eating supper at a little pizza place on the way we headed back to the cabin.

Wednesday we took a very long way to the aquarium in Gatlinburg due to my very backwards sence of direction. But we finally made it and Aubrey seemed to enjoy it too. We spent several hours there then went to see the bears at one of the places in Pigeon forge and had stuffed animals made for the kids at one of the build-a-bear places. Aubrey got a poodle named noodle and Kaden got a little puppy named midnight.

Thursday we packed up and headed back home. The kids actually did really well on the way home Kaden didn't really fuss much and we made it in good time.
