Vacation and Aubrey's Birthday party

We decided not to do a big vacation this summer since we bought a new house last year but we wanted to take a little time off and spend some time together.  We took last Thursday and Friday off and decided to do Holiday World Thursday and the Louisville Zoo on Friday.  Mom and dad went with us to Holiday World which was nice because they got to spend some time with the kids and watched them some so Wes and I could do a few of the bigger slides.  Unfortunatly it was HOT but we spent most of the day in the water park which wasn't as bad when you were in the water.  Aubrey had a really good time she loved the water and slides and she rode a few of the rides in the main park as well.  Kaden didn't really care for the water at all so he spent most of the day in the stroller or playing with grandpa.  I wish it would have been cooler so we could have enjoyed more of the park but it was still a good time.

Friday we went to the zoo.  It was pretty overcast when we went so I was hoping to have a little cooler time but the sun did come out and get pretty hot after we were there a while.  We stopped to play in one of the play grounds and looked at the animals and just spent some time together.  The kids really liked the playground.  Luckily this time Kaden liked the big animals I'm not sure what the problem was a few weeks ago when he was scared of them all but he did great this time.
Saturday we had Aubrey's 4th Birthday party.  It was a pretty small party because a lot of people had other things planned but she still had a really good time.  Mom and dad came down earlier and helped get things ready then the others started coming around 3.  She had a princess cake and Minnie mouse plates and napkins that she picked out herself.  This year we decided to do one big gift for both kids since they have SO many toys.  We bought a big outdoor wood playset for them.  It just came in middle of last week so we didn't get it put together in time for the party but we did get started on it Sunday.  After we ate and opened presents the kids went outside to play on the slip-n-slide.  I think everyone had a good time.
The started playset.  It has a cool little house at the top, a slide, three swings, a little picnic table, and a rock wall.  We need to get some dirt in to level a spot for it yet.
Grandma Sander got her a new baby doll and highchair.
A new alarm clock like Emmas
A baby alive doll and some nail polish
Aubrey on the slip and slide.
