Friday night we made a last minute decision for me and the kids to head to Jasper for the weekend to go to the Strassenfest and visit with mom and dad and the cousin's for a while. We packed up Saturday afternoon and headed to Jasper. Mom, dad, Tina, Cody, his girlfriend Sam and his friend Roger met us, Gwen, Emily, and April and their families at the Village Pizza where we ate supper then headed over to the Strassenfest to let the kids ride the rids. Kaden was content to visit with Grandpa like usual while Aubrey tried out the rides.

And she did a few of the bigger rides this year as well and she did really well with them. After the rides we got us an elephant ear and sat down for a while before heading back to mom and dad's.
While I was getting Aubrey ready Grandpa got Kaden to eat some watermelon! For those who don't know this is a huge deal because Kaden is the worlds pickiest eater and his selection of food he will even touch is very limited. He only ate two pieces but still it's progress.
Sunday morning we went to church with mom and dad then out to eat at Fazzoli's in Jasper. Tina met us at Fazzoli's then we went to the parade. Aubrey told me all morning that she didn't want to go but she had a good time once we got there. Since this was her first parade I don't think she knew what it was.
There were some really good floats and Jasper's marching band. You could tell it's an election year because there were a lot of campaigners.

After the parade we dropped Tina back off at her van and stopped by mom and dad's to drop their cooler off and headed back toward home. Wes was at his parents so we went over there and had supper and visited for a while.
Wes's brother Jeremy has been having some health issues for a while. He's been in the hospital since last Thursday trying to figure out what is going on. He's had a rough few days any prayers you can spare for him that they figure out what is going on would be appreciated.
